Palm Coast closes Wheeling Lane for three days to replace stormwater pipes
The city will detour traffic around a segment of the residential street from Sept. 1–3 while crews repair underground drainage infrastructure postponed from last week.
The City of Palm Coast will close a segment of Wheeling Lane for three days starting Sept. 1 to repair and replace underground stormwater infrastructure, rerouting traffic through two nearby residential streets while crews work.
The closure at 2 Wheeling Lane will run from 7 a. m. to 4 p. m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, through Thursday, Sept. 3. Traffic will detour around the work zone using Wheatfield Lane and Wheeldon Lane, with Florida Department of Transportation traffic-control devices directing drivers.

Palm Coast crews will repair and replace underground stormwater pipes at 2 Wheeling Lane during the three-day closure window, according to a city announcement issued Aug. 28.
The work was originally scheduled for the week of Aug. 24 but was postponed to allow for additional engineering design review, the city said.
During the closure, the affected segment of Wheeling Lane will be completely closed from 7 a. m. to 4 p. m. each of the three days. Motorists will be detoured via Wheatfield Lane and Wheeldon Lane, two residential streets in the same neighborhood. Standard DOT traffic-control devices—signs, cones, and barricades—will be deployed to guide drivers around the construction area.
The city asked residents and drivers to use caution, follow posted traffic controls, and allow extra travel time through the area.
